Despite their game at the Kingspan Stadium being called off on Friday night, Zebre did play a bit of rugby on a pitch in Ulster. That pitch was at Neillsbrook as the Italian side arrived on Friday morning to go through their match day team run.
A crowd of around 50 club members of all ages gathered to welcome the first professional team to ever set foot on a pitch in Randalstown. All of the Zebre players and coaches were warmly welcomed and they reciprocated this as they stayed afterwards to pose for photos, sign autographs and chat with the spectators.
Although they did not line up against Ulster that night, it was a big thrill to have them at the club and it was another in a long line of recent firsts for Randalstown Rugby Club.
